Please read these key eligibility, road, fuel and return rules before booking. The signed rental agreement remains authoritative.
Who can drive
Drivers must be 18–75, hold a current full licence and upload its front and back. Learner, provisional and probationary licences are not accepted. Every person who might drive must be added and individually authorised.
Where you can drive
Keep every Bubblegum car on sealed roads. West Point Road, Arthur Bay Road and Radical Bay Road are prohibited, along with gravel, dirt, sand, beaches, tidal areas, floodwater and unsafe or closed roads.
Fuel and return
Return the car to Bounce with a full tank whenever the island fuel stations are open. If we refuel when you could have done so, fuel plus a $10 service charge is deducted from the deposit. For an agreed after-6pm return when the stations are closed, return the car and we will arrange refuelling.
How the $200 deposit is refunded
We refund the full $200 deposit to the original payment method after checking the returned car, provided it is returned on time to the Bubblegum Cars spaces in the Bounce car park, with a full fuel tank and no new damage. For an agreed after-hours return when the island fuel stations are closed, the after-hours refuelling arrangement above applies. Refunds are normally initiated after inspection and may take 5–10 business days to appear, depending on your bank.
Damage Cover and excess
Standard Damage Cover is included for authorised drivers on sealed roads, subject to the complete agreement. The excess is up to $4,500 for each separate incident. The $200 deposit is separate from the excess. Read the plain-language Damage Cover guide.
Pickup and return timing
Pickup is available from 9:00am to 10:00pm; returns may be at any time. At return, park in the Bubblegum Cars spaces in the Bounce car park. Put the key back inside the car’s lockbox, close it securely, and place the lockbox back inside the glovebox before leaving the car.
