What you need before booking
Every driver enters their legal name, date of birth, address, contact details, licence number, issuing country and expiry date. The front and back of the licence must be uploaded, and each driver signs the rental agreement electronically.
Can an 18-year-old hire a car on Magnetic Island?
Yes. Bubblegum Cars accepts eligible drivers aged 18–75 who hold a current full licence and meet the rental requirements.
Is there a younger-driver surcharge?
No separate younger-driver surcharge applies. Every authorised driver has the same standard $4,500 Damage Cover excess for each incident.
Can international visitors book?
Yes. International visitors may book when they hold a current full licence and complete the required driver details, declarations, licence uploads and electronic signature.
Can friends share the driving?
Yes. A booking can have one primary driver and up to four additional authorised drivers. Each additional driver costs $10 per booking and must complete their own requirements before driving.
